A masterfully cut gemstone of top quality Golden Emerald Heliodor from Brushy Creek, North Carolina, USA. A very rare gem of a large size and of the highest quality. Most faceted Heliodor gems from this locality are about a half of a carat on average. This is 2.88 cts! This gem was purchased in the 90s and was acquired from the original prospector of the Brushy Creek Mine. A stone such as this would be nearly impossible to obtain any other way. This gem has about double the amount of facets as a normal pear shaped cut. Its a custom pear shaped full cut. It is extra deep to best show off the depth of color and the natural brilliance of the stone. Cut to perfect proportions this gem will fit most calibrated 12 x 8 settings for pear cut gemstones. An open back or double sided setting is a good fit for this gem as a result of the extra facets and the depth of the stone. This is the largest eye clean Heliodor gemstone that I have ever seen from North Carolina.
